After The Thin Man

Directed by W.S. Van Dyke

This follow-up to The Thin Man is nearly as enjoyable as the first. My one gripe might be that Myrna Loy doesn’t seem to have quite as big a part as she did previously. But the dialogue and delivery are still amazing and the story is thoroughly engaging. William Powell had perfect comic timing — as did Loy. Jimmy Stewart also appears in an early role, playing a character slightly out of the norm he’d later establish for himself, but he was good even back then.
